12-year-old student surrenders after stabbing schoolmate in Bacolod

A 12-year-old student surrendered to the police after stabbing a fellow student outside a public high school in Bacolod City, authorities said.

The incident happened on the afternoon of June 29 in front of a school in Barangay Sum-ag, involving a Grade 7 student and a 14-year-old Grade 8 victim. According to police reports, the younger student allegedly stabbed the victim during a commotion that broke out near the school premises.

Initial investigation showed that the victim sustained stab wounds on the left arm and left side of the body. The victim received a crucial first aid remedy and was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the stabbing, including possible factors that led to the altercation between the two students.
