Former Ateneo Blue Eagles head coach Tab Baldwin is expected to personally appear before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday as authorities continue their probe into the deaths of Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.

NBI Director Melvin Matibag confirmed that Baldwin will attend the next scheduled hearing after failing to appear during Wednesday’s proceedings.

According to Baldwin’s counsel, Atty. Karl Justeen David, the veteran basketball coach was unable to attend because of his condition at the time.

”He was not in a good condition to appear, so the NBI gave us another setting,” David said.

The lawyer added that Baldwin remains willing to cooperate with investigators and comply with all legal processes related to the ongoing inquiry.

Meanwhile, at least 10 Ateneo Blue Eagles players, accompanied by their parents, arrived at the NBI on Wednesday as part of the continuing investigation. Authorities have yet to disclose further details regarding their participation in the proceedings.

The NBI has been gathering statements and evidence in connection with the deaths of Baterbonia and Adili. Investigators have not released additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the case as the probe remains ongoing.

Baldwin’s appearance is expected to form part of the agency’s efforts to establish a clearer timeline and gather relevant information related to the investigation.
