Two helicopters collided mid-air over the beachside community of Recreio dos Bandeirantes in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, causing the tragic death of 32-year-old singer songwriter, Oliver Tree, and six other people, on Sunday, June 14.
Local authorities confirmed that Tree was aboard one of the aircrafts alongside a group of international creatives, including Brazilian music producer Lucas Frota, Argentine video director Lucas Vignale, and popular Argentine YouTuber Gaspar “Gaspi” Prim.
Both pilots also perished in the accident, which caused a fire at a nearby electric car dealership parking lot before being contained by local firefighters.
While investigators piece together the technical details of the collision, millions of fans who loved Tree are choosing to look upward in remembrance of a man who lived his life in the loudest and most brilliantly absurd colors possible.
