Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan denied allegations linking them to the alleged flood control scam after former bodyguards of ex-congressman Zaldy Co presented a photograph of the couple during a press conference on June 16.
According to the investigation, the former soldiers showed photographs of suitcases allegedly found at the hangar of Co’s Misibis Aviation. They claimed that they delivered suitcases containing cash to politicians and journalists.
Among the photographs presented was an image showing Pangilinan and Cuneta with individuals identified as supposed employees of Co.
However, the former bodyguards did not provide details on the circumstances surrounding the photograph.
In a Facebook post, Cuneta called the allegations false and explained that the photograph was taken during her family’s visit to Marawi to thank local officials for supporting Pangilinan’s successful bid for a Senate seat in the 2025 elections.
”Mga sinungaling!!!!!!! Sobra talaga kayo!!!!! I vlogged about this visit my family and I made to Marawi to thank the Governor, Mayor, and other officials and their families for their support for Kiko,” Cuneta wrote.
She also questioned the allegations that suitcases filled with cash were handed to them in Marawi.
Pangilinan, meanwhile, warned that those responsible for presenting the photograph would be held accountable for what he described as defamatory claims.
”Dahil dinamay ninyo pa ang pamilya ko, makakatikim kayo ng hindi pasaring, alegasyon, o palabas na kaso sa korte. Pananagutan ninyo ang paninirang ginagawa ninyo,” he said.

The senator said the allegations intend to tarnish his reputation amid reports that he would chair a Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee tasked to investigate the alleged flood control scam.
He maintained that there was no basis for the accusations against him.
